Cablevision Systems could spark a resurgent interest in municipal Wi-Fi networks, according to a Dell'Oro Group report that says the service -- free to its customers -- helped fuel the cable operator's 70% jump in net subscribers in the fourth quarter compared with the previous period. Cablevision is in the process of rolling out the service in parts of its New York, New Jersey and Connecticut footprint.
